What a Maintenance Plan Costs

Two plan families, three vehicle tiers, three frequencies. Plans are priced by vehicle size — the same way ceramic coating is — because a three-row van simply holds more interior than a coupe. One-time details also use published starting prices by vehicle size for normal to moderately dirty vehicles, with condition add-ons and vehicle-size prices confirmed before work starts.

Which Vehicle Tier Are You In?

• Coupe / Sedan — two-row cars, hatchbacks and compact crossovers. Interior Only from $99, Interior + Exterior from $149.
• 5-Seat SUV / Truck — two-row SUVs and crew-cab pickups, the most common vehicle we see in Austin driveways. Interior Only from $149, Interior + Exterior from $199.
• 7-Seat SUV / Van — three-row SUVs and minivans. More seats, more carpet, more third-row debris. Interior Only from $199, Interior + Exterior from $249.

How the Three Frequencies Differ

Monthly is the lowest price per visit because the car barely moves off baseline between appointments. Every 2 Months costs more per visit, and Quarterly more again, because each extra week adds pollen, dust, bug remains and interior buildup that has to be taken back off. A sedan Interior Only plan runs $99 monthly, $129 every 2 months, and $149 quarterly; the Interior + Exterior version of the same car runs $149, $179, and $199.

How a plan visit compares to a one-time detail depends on your vehicle tier. On a coupe or sedan every plan visit comes in under the one-time price, and monthly is the widest gap. What an Austin Car Actually Accumulates Between Visits

• December through April — cedar and oak pollen. Mountain cedar hits first, then oak catkins and yellow pollen film. A car parked outside under trees can be visibly coated within a week, and the film holds moisture against the clear coat.
• May through September — bugs and UV. Highway miles on 71, 183, MoPac, and I-35 bake bug remains onto the front clip, and afternoons over 100°F cure them onto the paint fast. Interiors take the same beating: dashboards and door tops get sustained UV all summer.
• Year-round west of MoPac — limestone and caliche dust. Hill country roads, gravel drives, and active construction in places like Bee Cave, Barton Creek, Leander, and Steiner Ranch put a fine alkaline dust on paint continuously, not seasonally.
• Anywhere near sprinklers. Central Texas water is mineral-heavy. Overspray drying in the sun leaves spotting that gets harder to remove the longer it sits.
• Interiors accumulate on a different clock. Kids, dogs, gym bags, greenbelt trail dirt, and drive-through debris build up on use, not weather. A commuter's cabin and a family SUV's cabin are not on the same schedule.

The Real Trade-Off

Detailing costs scale with condition, not just with vehicle size. A car on a plan is a maintenance job: contamination hasn't bonded, stains haven't set, and the cabin never reaches the state that needs a full reset.

A car detailed once a year is a recovery job. Pollen and dust have been ground into the paint, bug remains have etched, interior spills have soaked into fabric backing, and pet hair has woven into carpet. That's where add-ons stack up — stain treatment, heavy pet hair removal, clay bar, or a quick polish — and how vehicle size and condition shape a single-visit quote.

So the honest framing is this: a plan is worth it when you want the car kept clean continuously, at a lower price per visit, priced to your vehicle size. A one-time detail is the better buy when you want an occasional deep reset — before a sale, after a road trip, at the end of pollen season — and nothing in between.

Choosing Your Frequency by Where You Park

Frequency should follow parking conditions, not a generic calendar.

• Monthly — uncovered driveway under live oaks or cedar, daily highway commute, kids or a dog in the car, or a home near active construction. This describes a lot of Leander, Bee Cave, and Steiner Ranch.
• Every 2 months — covered carport or a shaded driveway, moderate mileage, adult-only cabin. Common for central neighborhoods like Hyde Park and Mueller.
• Quarterly — garage-kept, light mileage, and you rinse it yourself between visits. Downtown garage parking often falls here, minus grackle season.

When a Plan Pays Off

• The car parks outside, uncovered, especially under trees
• You drive daily highway miles and the front clip collects bugs
• You live west of MoPac or near active construction
• Kids, pets, or job-site gear are in the vehicle regularly
• You want the car kept presentable rather than rescued twice a year

When It Doesn't

• –The vehicle is garaged and driven a few times a month
• –You're comfortable washing it yourself between details
• –You're selling within a few months — one strong detail beats a cadence
• –You already have a ceramic coating and a solid wash routine keeping up

For a garaged car, a ceramic coating plus occasional full details is often a better use of the same money than a tight plan cadence.
